He’s Great! Well… Except for… – Dating Men You Want to Change

Choosing to date someone you want to change is a waste of time. Even if you’re trying to expand his fashion sense, you’re trying to change him. No one, including you, wants to date someone who wants to change them – like they aren’t good enough to be accepted the way they are. Why would you choose someone you want to change anyway? Because he’s right in front of you and you think he’s your only shot? If that’s the case, it’s your insecurity showing.
If you like everything except… better get very clear about the X factor you don’t like ‘cause you may not find it in him. If the X factor is a Deal Breaker, you’re done anyway so why are you trying to change it in him? If the X factor is a Nice To Have stop obsessing over something that’s not crucial to you. If the X factor is on your Must Have list, get very clear about how important it really is to you.
If you decide the missing X factor is a priority for you – here’s the faith and courage coming into the picture. Take a bold step, make a good choice and move on to someone you don’t feel like you have to change so he meets your expectations. There are a lot of men in the world and you’re only looking for one.
Date deliberately,
Debra
