We all want to find a good one – a man who adds to our life and makes us smile. So how do we really know if he is a good one? Below is a three question good guy test to help you figure out the answer. Begin by using your head and thinking through your answers. Then, go through these questions again and feel the answers. As I’ve said before, every good deliberate decision in your life is made with your heart and your head.

Is He Good To You?

Being good to you is the first piece of the good guy test. Does he treat you well? Is he there when you need him? Is he there when you don’t need him like on a normal, everyday kind of day? Do you feel cherished? Does he learn about your needs and do something to meet them? When you are sick, does he do something to show he cares, or does he dismiss it as “I don’t have time for this” or “I’ll talk to you when you are better” or worse “We can resume dating after you get done being sick.” He wouldn’t state the last one out loud, though his behavior shows you if he’s only interested in dating when it’s convenient for him, and that he doesn’t show any signs of being interested in a relationship. There’s a big difference between a date and a relationship.

Is He Good For You?

Ya, there are a lot of questions to figure out the answer to part two of the good guy test, but don’t skip any of them. When you consider his lifestyle, does he live a life you want to be part of? Does he value the same things you do in life? These could be shared priorities, shared interests, and his general outlook on life itself. Do you both have the same attitude about how life should be lived? Do you appreciate his general disposition when you are around him like his sense of humor, or is he too negative, or too busy, or do you find yourself cringing when you talk to him? When you think about him, do you smile or get stressed out?
